PAVED with HOPE

Before totally committing to supporting Democratic presidential candidate, Barack Obama read "The AUDACITY of HOPE." Senator Obama articulates his position as an American, a father of two daughters, a husband in love with his wife and a dedicated politician. This man truly believes he can help re-align the United States of America with all the dreams of our fore-fathers. Change. His idea of change is asking his constituents, "What is it they want from day-to-day?' Change. Mr. Obama wants to help the people of this great country reach their greatest potential. He truly understands what it is to be a person on the outside looking inside for a chance to be accepted. May this acceptance be part of the working middle class or simply asking a girl on a date. In chapter after chapter he suggest Americans need to maintain the status quo of "doing better than our parents." Yet at the same time, realizing we must become open to globalization. Americans comfort zone is no longer Main Street, U.S.A. With Mr. Obama's insightful leadership the United States will be the best of the best of super-powers.

OZZIE'S MUSE

Amazing things happen when a person passionately pursues a dream. After over 50 years as an actress, Ruby Dee was nominated by the Academy Awards board of Governors for best supporting actress. Her role in "AMERICAN GANGSTER," as the mother of Denzel Washington, was small but important. Ms. Dee did not win, but reminded movie-goers her talent is valid and needed.

BE COOL .... CD101.9

Due to an executive decision .... It is interesting how so many life changing moments start with that phrase. A local smooth jazz Manhattan radio station has become a hard rock station. The Emmis Communications firm decided the incoming revenue was low and had to be replaced with a high income generator.

So after twenty years of growing the smooth jazz - chill format it was replaced with antiquated echoes of Peter Frampton. The radio station's management company did offer loyal listeners an opportunity to listen to CD101.9 on HD2 radio.

The names of the d.j's quickly become a blur. Pushing a button and expecting to hear quiet tones are now non-existent. Everything does change. Get access to an HD frequency and the next conversation at your local cafe could be, "Remember when CD101.9 played ..."
